Don’t date someone who thinks it’s cool to be a dickhead

I went on a date once with a guy who, when we bumped into a friend of his, thought it was cool to pretend he’d forgotten my name. I could see he hadn’t really, the tell-tale smile on his face was a giveaway and his friend, I believe, clocked it too. Needless to say, this inadequate display of his apparent sexual prowess and macho status was not a turn on for me, and I never saw him again.

The reason I use this example is because there are a lot of women who would have let this behaviour slide. They would have chalked it up to boys will be boys or a minor show of bravado that wasn’t worth acknowledging.

There are a lot of women who are okay with continuing to date guys who very early in the relationship are

difficult to reach on the phone,

consistently unreliable,

late without sincere apology

disrespectful

These behaviours are excused because that’s just the way some guys are.

You, my dear ladies, need to step back. Step right back into the Queen that you have left trailing somewhere in your shadow. You need to learn to look at a situation, its bigger picture and say –

No, next.

If acting like a dickhead is not an accident, a rare occurrence, or a very occasional character flaw, then it is not to be tolerated or entertained.

Your self-worth must be higher.
